Clapping For Multiple Stories At The Same Time

How is it possible?

I have noticed something lately that baffles my mind. In notifications, I see that someone clapped for 6 different stories of mine within a time frame of 1 minute. How is that possible?

The reading time of the stories varied in length (1 to 4 minutes). Did they read all the stories?

I highly doubt it because I can not read 6 stories in 1 minute and clap for them all as well.

Clappers and dashers

Are they clappers and dashers? I read before in a Medium story that there are people that clap and make a dash to the next person in the hope that the person will read a similar amount of their stories.

Why do I clap for your story?

Please note that if I clapped for your story I either read or more likely, read and listened, to your story till the end. Why? It is my way to indicate to you that I read, appreciated, and enjoyed your story.

Back to my question in the subtitle — how is it possible? Is it a timing error in notifications?

Did this happen to anyone else? How do you explain it other than clappers and dashers? I am looking forward to hearing from you as my brain is tickled.
