Flash Reading Visits
Tornado clapping, highlighting, and commenting on stories.
It is amazing how fast some people on Medium can read a story.
Seven of my stories, with a total reading time of 15 minutes, were read in 4 minutes by one person.
Wow! Amazing! It’s superpower reading.
S/he clapped, highlighted, and left meaningless comments ( 1 to 3 words).
This messed up the reading time for those stories.
Speed reading: Why?
Some people storm stories like a raging bull and hope you won’t notice.
Why do they do it? Do they want us to engage with their stories? Are they generally fast readers? Are their time to read and engage on this platform limited?
I wish I knew the answers to those questions.
Returning the favor
I want to return the flash visit favor to them.
Would that make me a horrible person or would they realise they were sussed out?
Will it teach them kindness or should I just block them?
What are your thoughts on speed readers and how do you deal with it?
