Hairy Times
An evolution of my hair — A Trinet poem.
Over the years I had a variety of hair styles. From cropped to a ponytail and everything in between.
The Trinet poem below details my hair evolution.
As a baby, I had blonde curly wispy hair which turned brown by age four. My primary and secondary schools had school hair rules. Short and cropped were expected. It was the safest way to keep you out of trouble.
As a student, I tried a variety of hairstyles — from a ducktail to a ponytail style. Rebel Jay was out and about. Then during my mid-twenties, I started going bald. Crisis alert!
I wanted my hair back. I tried creams, oils, hair tonics, and every remedy available. To no avail. I decided to go with a crewcut style. If I have to show skin then I will show all the skin on my head.
During my late thirties, a lady friend asked me why I worry so much about my hair. “You have a sexy head shape and bald is sexy you know,” she said. So, I soaked up her words like a hungry sponge.
And that was that! I never fuzzed or worried about my hair again.
