I recently published a post on Medium reflecting about how I turned my love for walking into a cardio workout a decade ago. When I wrote the story I did not know how it will change my lifestyle within a week. Let me start by explaining the inspiration for the post I published.

For the last six months I was not concerned about my my health. I did not go walking and I stuffed myself with sweet treats and fast food. Yes, it did lead to weight issues. Why did I do this? Due to unemployment, I became depressed.

“There are plenty of difficult obstacles in your path. Don’t allow yourself to become one of them.” — Ralph Marston

I wondered how I will ever be able to snap out of this stage in my life because I knew I had to do something about it. Ralph Marston quote inspired me to take action and change something in my daily routine.

“Turn your passion for walking in nature into improving your own health,” I told myself.

Easier said than done when you are depressed. Eventually, I dragged myself out of my room to go for a walk in nature. I love walking and have done it regularly in the past.
