I just made lunch and decided to try my suggestion. Here are some ideas. Cook the sliced potatoes for 10 minutes in salty water. Add a layer to the pot, followed by the onion mixture and finally potato slices. Grate some cheddar cheese over and pour a bit of milk over it.

Cook covered till the cheese melted and then uncovered over low heat. Be careful as it will burn easily due to the milk and cheese combination.

I cooked mine too long. So now I have a cheese, onion, and garlic potato mashed dish. 😄
