Life Is Beautiful And So Are We!
Don’t let your insecurities wear you down.
Hatching bird,
scared chick,
nasty world..
Wanna stay?
Wanna stay!
Ugly duckling,
self-perception.
Insecurity problem?
Irresistible,
You’re unique,
Really? Am, I?
Yeah, you are!
Worthy of love!
Love yourself.
Accept yourself,
then others will too.
Spread your wings and fly.
You’re beautiful just the way you are!
The aim of the poem is to portray how we are sometimes held captive by our low self-perception of ourselves.
As a child, I got bullied because I was overweight and introverted. This led to a low self-image and an irrational fear of leaving my comfort zone. As a result, I started to dislike myself.
Many people have a problem accepting and loving themselves. This is based on their perception that they are not beautiful or worthy of love. Sometimes we are our own worst enemy — pulling ourselves down.
We need to realize that we are beautiful and unique the way we are. We need to embrace our uniqueness, celebrate our inner beauty shining through, and fly.
