Night Shadows

Fighting night’s darkness

A storm brew,
changing life’s equilibrium.
Ice ball thundering flames.
Teardrops from a sulky sky.

Leaves blasted by machine gun fire.
Angry bee droplets sting Earth’s thirst,

no place to hide,
no place to settle,
no place to rest,
for tortured souls.

Night settles slowly —
a fluffy dark duvet.
Desolate darkness
enfolds my skinny soul.
Fighting nightly shadows.

Sleepless. Restless,
?
?
twisting. Turning . . .

Morning light
reminds us that beauty exists,
after the dreary darkness of night,
wrestling shadows one can’t see clearly.

Don’t fear …

Don’t fear the moonless night.
Don’t fear life’s constant changes.
Don’t fear past mistakes, they’re history.
