Skiing in a frozen forest wonderland

A phrase about happiness:

Skiing in a frozen forest wonderland leaving swishing snaky snow trails behind.

A couple of years ago our secondary school students had a week’s ski holiday during school term in the Austrian Alps. Obviously, everyone signed up for the trip. They had tons of fun.

I have never been on skis in my life and volunteered to look after the kids’ well-being. A plaster here for a cut or blister, or some hot chocolate for the tired and weary.

The kids dared me to ski and bribed me with chocolates. I eventually gave in. Oh, what I won’t do for chocolates. We all went off to the beginner ski slope.

A couple of the advanced skiers decided Mr. Jay needs help. They didn’t want me to break a leg. Who’s gonna look after everyone? Nice of them, or selfish? So I started skiing with my human ski crutches in tow.

It was fun, but I don’t have snow legs. Terra firma for me thank you. I’m a better ski cheerleader and medicine dispenser.

Do you love skiing? Let me know in the comments.
