This happened to me

One line poem: Happiness is ….

The freedom of your own apartment after living in shared accommodation.

A phrase about happiness:

Enjoying the empowering enlightenment of your own adorable apartment

After becoming unemployed last year I had to make a couple of changes in my life. Luckily I received social benefits and support to help me.

I could not afford to continue with the rent of my previous apartment. I had to find a cheaper alternative in a shared apartment. My neighbors did not welcome an additional person on their patch and were frosty neighbors.

Today I moved into my own little apartment. Woo…hoo! Friends came over to help me settle in, scrub and clean my new little cozy nest. I am knackered but enjoyed every moment of the process. The newfound freedom feels like the dawn of the enlightenment era must have felt.

This story was inspired by A-Word-A-Day prompts for May 2022 — Day 16 (Enlightenment) published in Promptly Written. Thanks, Christine, and Ravyne.
