Please Judge Me On The Evidence
The day I got told off for someone else’s litter lying about.
In February 2021, we had a 6-week lockdown due to concerns about the COVID-19 Delta variant. We were allowed to leave our apartments for exercise and essential shopping as long as we followed social distancing regulations.
After being stuck for 4 weeks in my apartment I needed to get out and socialize. A friend joined me for a 30-minute walk in the vineyards. We decided to have a takeaway coffee from a bakery in town on our way back.
Close to the bakery was a public seating area in front of a small apartment complex. We sat down as there were not many people about. I lit a cigarette and we chatted away about this and that.
It was heaven to be outside and socialize a bit.
I used my empty coffee cup as an ashtray. Thirty minutes later I lit another ciggie. A lady stormed out of the apartment complex and started screaming at us. Totally flabbergasted I asked her what was wrong.
She pointed at a couple of cigarette buds lying on the paved area in front of the seating area. Her screaming pitch increased by an octave.
