Popular Phrases People Use That Are Annoying
The little irritable thorns in the flesh.
Some people adopt phrases or sayings they utter that are extremely annoying. It makes one doubt their sincerity.
Here are 5 annoying phrases/sayings that act like burning thorns in my flesh. Where is the duct tape?
1. Trust me: Immediately I doubt every word that follows. Do they not trust themselves, or me?
2. I have been through worse: Really. Do they utter the phrase to make me feel better about an issue? It’s irritating because there is no empathy competition between us, at least as far as I’m aware.
3. I am sorry if I offended you: Why are you sorry that you did not think before you speak? You obviously wanted to voice your opinion at any cost.
4. I don’t mean to be rude: But you are going to be anyway doesn’t matter whose feelings you going to trample over.
5. Honestly: When I hear someone use the word “honestly” I immediately shut down because I am convinced a lie will follow.
