Romania’s Prime Minister, Nicolae Ciuca, appointed an Artificial Intelligence (AI) adviser named ‘Ion’ as his “honorary adviser.

This is the first time AI technology has been used by a leader of a country. Ion’s goal is to keep the government up-to-date “in real time of Romanians’ proposals and wishes,” Ciucă said. Alternatively, Romanians can submit their ideas directly via a dedicated website.

This is a pioneering move that I found very interesting. Ion will use data to generate priority reports for Mr. Ciucă and his staff. This will be useful information for the government.

As a non-technical person, I was wondering how Ion will decide which issues are more important than others.

What are your thoughts on this move of the Romanian Prime Minister? Will the AI advisor be useful?
