Poetry | Ten Word Story Challenge

Smooth Hands?

I did love sunbathing without sun protection too much as a youngster — now I pay for it.

Writing a ten-word story is a challenge, isn’t it? I have never written a ten-word story before. So when I got tagged by Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles, I decided to give it a go.

I decided to use Vidya’s format of 5 different stories written as a Haiku that collectively conveys a message. I enjoyed reading her inspirational story embedded below.

Below are my ten-word story challenge contribution written as 5 different Haikus consisting of 10 words each. Each Haiku has a 17 syllable count per Haiku (5/7/5 syllables in lines 1/2/3).

Smooth Hands?

Hands once silky smooth
— sun keratosis,
silky smooth no more.

Olive oil smothered
Africa sunbathing glut
— teenage cool blithe boy.
