A Social Media Flatline Does Wonders To Uplift The Human Psyche

Would you disconnect from your virtual world for a short time?

It seems as if we, or at least I, became addicted to the virtual world and social media. We’re always connected, in touch, and ready to respond to messages send to us via the ether.

The question I asked myself is: “Can I disconnect from the virtual world for a while?” I present to you the poem Cyber Flatline to ponder.

Cyber Flatline:

Connected
social media
stay in touch
online work
virtual world
— an empire rules.

Disconnect
occasionally
from the world.
‘Me’ time needed
beep .. beep .. beep
— electronic blackout.

Beep … beep, silence,
temporary flatline, sorry.
— Disconnected for ‘me’ time.
