The emotions portrayed in a painting seem to speak to me when I view art. I do love colourful art that conveys happiness and peace. However, the more sombre pieces can stop me dead in my tracks like the Night watchman by Rembrandt. When I saw it in Amsterdam it kept me occupied for about 30 minutes.
