The vastness of space and time is impressive. I was addicted to a space program by Carl Sagan in my early twenties. I remember him saying that if there is life in space there i one of 3 possibilities. They are not at our level or at the same level of advancement. So it is not possible to connect. However time and distance will make it difficult. The third possibility is that they are way more advanced and see us as prehistoric creatures. I do find your article thought provoking.
