Word feathers
flow from your pen
on silky smooth ivory paper.

Word feathers
soothe and enlighten.
A poem’s imagery tickles my soul.

Drifting on clouds
I walk soft cotton candy
hearing your voice whispering to me.

Blue cyan whispers
from your verses float in the air
transporting me to an imaginary wonderland.

Word whispers
release my angst and stress
into a never-never therapeutic wonderland.

This week while I was reading poems from a selection of authors I had an image in my mind of their words captured in the verses were feathers.

The feathers reached out to me and tickled my senses whispering words of wisdom to my soul. I find reading and writing poetry relaxing and a stress-buster activity. It is like a free therapeutic session.

The poem above and the feather image inspired the writing prompt below.

Writing prompt: What does poetry whisper to you?

I am looking forward to reading your poem inspired by the prompt.
