Easy Scones Recipe
An easy-to-make recipe using 3 ingredients.
This scone recipe is easy to make. You need self-rising flour, cream, and a soft drink such as Mountain Dew or Sprite to make the scones.
It is important to use a soft drink that contains sugar to replace granulated sugar in the recipe. The recipe makes 12 scones.
You can serve and enjoy it with or strawberry jam and cream, or butter and your favorite topping, or grated cheese as a savory option.
Ingredients:
500 grams of self-raising flour (make your own recipe)
330 ml Mountain Dew or a clear carbonated soft drink (not zero sugar)
250 ml (1 cup) cream or crème fraiche or sour cream
a dash of salt
Process:
- Add the flour and salt to a bowl.
- Add the cream and soft drink. Mix well, but don’t over-mix the batter.
- Grease a muffin pan (for 12 muffins) with butter or oil. Add tablespoons of the scones mixture into the muffin cases.
- Bake in a preheated oven for 20–25 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
- Let the scones cool for 5 minutes in the muffin pan and transfer it to a wire rack to cool to room temperature.
